There's been a lot of debate about the H1N1 vaccine.  Some wonder if it is healthy or it's been thoroughly tested.  I wrote about that here http://www.peachdough.com/joomla/index.php/health/44-other/84-h1n1-vaccine-debate-and-hand-sanitizer.html

I also touched on the issue of the vaccine containing chicken eggs and about how even high risk vegans may avoid the vaccine.  Well, here is some more information on the chickens and eggs that are used for the vaccine.

The vaccine uses fertilized eggs, actual unborn baby chicks, not the kind of eggs that are sold in grocery stores.

Since demand for vaccines is high (requiring about 600,000 unborn babies a day), chickens have been crammed into windowless warehouses and are breeding around the clock.

Worse than being crammed into a warehouse and used in a breeding program is the fact that the chickens are all killed before they even see their first birthday.  The reason being that older chickens supposedly don't make good enough eggs.

Hardly seems fair to me.  But I'm also very motivated to live.  So I'm still happy I'm not in one of the high risk groups.  I'm definitely going vaccine-less for now.
