We've known that dolphins are smart for quite a while now.  But it seems they're even smarter than we have been giving them credit for, maybe even smarter than chimps.

Researchers studied the brains of dolphins and found that they are wired for complex thought.  The researchers say that dolphins can learn quickly, teach others, recognizes themselves in mirrors, and even think about the future.

The researchers say that given these findings dolphins should basically be viewed as "non-human persons" and should have rights.
