Most American women shave. There's not necessarily anything wrong with that. But the fact that we're expected to shave is a problem. Because that's sexist. Despite the stereotypes, hair is not "dirty." It's not "disgusting." It's not "only for men." And it's not "only for women who can't get men." We all have body hair. It's natural. And it's washable, just like the hair on your head. So it's way past time we started breaking down some of the stereotypes and started choosing for ourselves whether or not we want to shave rather than making the decision solely based on silly, sexist, and outdated expectations. Never let anyone make you feel like you have to do something to your body that you don't want to do.
